I am an associate professor of public policy at the University of Michigan's Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
My research interests are on the social safety net, and in particular, how tax credits like the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC) affect child outcomes and economic mobility. I also study education policy, with a particular focus on income gaps in education outcomes in both the K-12 and higher education space and how policy can work to mitigate economic disparities and improve economic mobility.
